"Nerissa! Listen. What's that noise?" Nerissa frowned, annoyed with her friend. Then she heard a funny sound. She turned her head side-to-side trying to hear where it was coming from. The sound echoed around them. "It sounds a bit like someone burbling "Ta Hee Hee Hee"!"
Alphie and Nerissa looked at each other, then peered around the sea floor trying to find where the sound was coming from. They drifted toward Blue Cliffs, glancing around. Suddenly Alphie shot off like baby fish after food. Nerissa raced after him shouting.

"Alphie! If this was some kind of trick, you cheater. . ." And then she stopped suddenly, surprised by a big jiggling grey hulk that appeared out of the blue depths, right in front of Alphie. Alphie struggled to stop, paddling himself backwards.
"What . . . Alphie, what is it?" Alphie darted behind Nerissa, and peered out at the lumpy, grey creature. A big bunch of bubbles glorped up, and the thing went, "Ta Hee Hee Hee."

Alphie whispered, "Is it laughing, Nerissa?" Nerissa drifted toward the creature, carefully.

"It sounds so sad. I think it's crying, Alphie . . . " To the sad grey lump she said, "Hello? Are you okay?" A big fuzzy nose rolled into sight as the lump uncurled itself. Tears drifted into the water around them from its big sad eyes. The creature held out its front flippers to Nerissa and Alphie.
