The New York Public Library has selected author/illustrator, Lurene Haines, book "The Writer's Guide to the Business of Comics" for including on their Year 2000 Books For The Teen Age List. This prestigious list, used by schools and librarians throughout the country, and internationally, to guide book acquisitions, is now in it's 71st year of publication. It selects the best of the previous year's publishings for teenagers. All titles are read and reviewed by young adult librarians and recommended for this very special publication.

Haines attended the March reception for the list which included displays of the selected books, award presentations, introduction of the honored authors and a social gathering following the event. Many authors, educators and librarians were in attendance and the event was exhilirating.

Haines' book joins only 13 others recognized in the Here and Now - "Working" category.
